As I ventured into Canyon de Chelly, a place rich with Navajo heritage, my guide Lee broke the silence of the expansive valley with a resonant shout that echoed among the brilliant red cliffs. Growing up in a multi-generational family, she has been shaped by the stories of her grandparents and parents. Emily clearly expresses her desire to preserve the voice and traditional culture of her people, a commitment her father has worked hard to uphold.
